Jeanne La Caravane was born from our passion for travel, micro living, and minimalism. It all started in September 2022 when we found a second-hand caravan that perfectly met our criteria in terms of size, interior layout, and equipment.
During the winter of 2022-2023, we transformed the caravan into a small, modern, and comfortable “Tiny House”. Our objective for this renovation was twofold: on the one hand, to make it our travel companion for discovering Belgium and neighboring countries, in a simple and natural way. On the other hand, to make it available to travelers wishing to stay in an unusual accommodation, in the Overijse region.
The renovation was carried out in several stages: we removed the wall coverings, then applied four to five coats of white paint on all the walls, furniture, and ceiling. We also installed adhesive tiling in the bathroom and kitchen, as well as a vinyl covering on the floor and kitchen worktop.
We then replaced the lacquered marble surfaces with pre-treated natural wood. The bench cushions were covered with elastic covers, the curtains were changed, and we removed the stickers from the exterior bodywork of the caravan to replace them with a new “covering”.
The renovation project was completed in Spring 2023, and we welcomed our first visitors in May 2023.
